ECVO Ophthalmic Screening

What does ECVO screening mean?
An ECVO (European College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists) eye screening can only be performed by veterinarians who have demonstrated their knowledge in a multi-stage examination before an international panel. (https://www.ecvo.org/media/examiners_in_other_countries.pdf) In Hungary, I am the only one who has passed this examination.
Who is the ECVO screening recommended for?
In countries west of us, breeders are usually required to provide proof of an eye screening for pedigree registration, and almost exclusively screenings performed by an ECVO panellist are accepted. Therefore, this examination is strongly recommended for anyone who wishes to register a pedigree or use their dog for breeding/stud in these countries.
